He was chosen from a litter by Ellie and her previous partner, Gale, who passed over in 2003. And today, Kuva passed over on Gale's birthday. I will write more about Kuva in the near future, but for right now, I appreciate him because he had nothing but love to give, he never caused a moment's distress, and he reminded me about living in the present - just to name a few reasons why I appreciate him. His transition leaves a huge hole in my physical presence because his physical being is gone only a few hours, and I miss seeing him, hearing him, petting him already. I will work on changing that story to remembering all the fun I had with him -- playing with him in the creek, in the snow, in the living room, and watching himhead for the pond in our front yard to dig for rocks. Thank you for all you gave me, Kuva Bear. I know that you have already been greeted by Gale, on her birthday; by the other pets you lived with in your first home; by your neighbor, Marria; by my dog, Molly, whom you met when we all visited in 2004; and by new friends and "cousins" who will introduce themselves in your new home. Enjoy your spiritual journey, my furry friend - you will always have a place in my heart. I love you, Kuva, and I appreciate you. Today I appreciate the easing of the tension in my hip and the knowing that its complete departure from my body is on its way. Today I appreciate having a job that I can leave in the middle of the day to take care of myself.
