Today I Appreciate….
- A Giving Thanks Day – Today in the US it is a holiday – Thanksgiving. It is said this is one of the most traveled holidays as family and friends gather to give thanks together.
I know this started with the pilgrims and the native americans… but to be honest I don’t remeber the history well. In my family we never discussed the history – we gave thanks before dinner – ate turkey and lots of goodies and enjoyed each others company.
I do appreciate we have a holiday to give thanks… Most important for me – I have come to learn – when I take the time everyday to find things to appreciate – my life increasingly shows me more things to appreciate. Life changing!
If you celebrate this holiday I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving — if this is not a holiday for you – I wish you a day of Giving Thanks.

It almost doesn’t matter how the holiday got started (though it’s surely good to know) but what matters most is whatever prompts us to gratitude, a powerful force of transformation and knowing that … it’s all good, depending on our perspective. What I appreciate is the opportunity to share perspectives and I’ve surely enjoyed yours … Life Changing, one day, one moment, one opportunity at a time. I’d like to share someone else’s perspective with you, a friend who has a very interesting take on the notion of “holiday” itself. Thanks, Eric, for the perspective you shared about holiday.
We had last minute changes for today, and I appreciate just hanging out at home with no expectations – enjoying the day as it comes.
Every Thanksgiving, I am reminded of the abuncance I enjoy. I am so appreciative of the food on my table everyday and everything else I “have” to enjoy.
